The JWI is governed by a Board of Directors of seven people whose background include business, academia, health, law, project management and public policy.

Dr. Akolisa Ufodike, Founder
Dr. Ufodike is an Assistant Professor in the School of Administrative Studies (Auditing and Data Analytics) and the Graduate Program in Public Policy Administration and Law at York University. In addition to being an accounting professional, he writes about equity, diversity, inclusion, and civic engagement.

Yvonne Akpoveta, Chair
Yvonne is a Change Management Strategist, Advisor, and Change Leadership Advocate, with over 20 years of experience helping public and private sector organizations to navigate through change. She sits on the Board of Directors for the Education Quality and Accountability Office of Ontario.

Dr. Izu Nwachuwku, Board Director
Dr. Izu Nwachukwu is a psychiatrist with extensive international education and practice experience. He completed his postgraduate medical training in Europe where he continues to be a Member of Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland.

Anuli Ausbeth-Ajagu, Board Director
Anuli is a human resource professional and educator with over fifteen years of leading teams and managing people for peak performance. She is a lecturer at the Bow Valley College School of Business. She has expertise in cross-cultural communication, diversity, leadership, coaching, training, development and change management.

Chuks Ezeokafor, Board Director
Chuks Ezeokafor is the Vice President of IT at Levitt-Safety. He leads product development, innovation, cybersecurity, eCommerce and enterprise project teams at Levitt-Safety. Chuks co-chairs Levitt’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee. He’s held technology and innovation leadership roles at companies in Canada, Nigeria and the US.
