
Objective: JWI offers a fellowship program that develops reputable and qualified Black Board directors in other to address supply side issues.
The program will identify and prepare Black executives for service on the board of Public Companies. Click here to view the profiles of our current John Ware Fellows
Fellows: Candidates for the John Ware Fellowship (JWF) will be executives who have over 10 years of professional experience. The candidates will also have at least 5 years of non-profit board experience or any experience serving on an agency, board or commission (ABC). Fellows will be selected annually by an advisory board or committee.
The Program Offers the Following benefits: JWI will work with the fellows to identify “next-level” paid board opportunities.
JWI will place each fellow with Board peer group constituted of other John Ware Fellows.
The fellows will complete the Chartered Director (C.Dir) credential through our partnership with the Directors College at the Degroote School of Business. The Directors College has committed $210,000 in financial support for the fellows to complete the C.Dir program.
Giving Back:
Each fellow will be required to identify 2 other candidates to be developed as John Ware fellows and will make a commitment to mentoring two John Ware fellows within 5 years of the completion of their fellowship.
JWI is also seeking Board mentors to assist in mentoring the John Ware Fellows.
